Come build with us.
We’re building serious networking software with a culture that’s decidedly not.
Hi! We're 70-and-growing developers who love networking so much we want to make it incredibly simple. When we need to express any other emotion, we have 8,000+ emoji in Slack.
We care about developer experience, diversity, and agency. We have a mantra—at ngrok, you can just build/ship/do/fix things—and we trust each other to do it well.
We're headquartered in San Francisco, but most of us work remote across US time zones. Those in the Bay Area come to the office (and guzzle free boba) on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
We take care of our team.
Health stuff that actually matters
We cover full premiums on healthcare, dental, and vision for you, and half for your dependents. We cover mental health and well-being support too, because taking care of your brain is as important as taking care of your teeth.
Regular feedback, fair comp
Bi-annual reviews to make sure you’re getting real feedback and staying competitively compensated. No surprises, no waiting around for performance conversations.
Actually flexible time off
We say “open, flexible vacation policy” and actually mean it. Take the time you need. Your manager will bug you if you’re not taking enough.
401(k) matching that doesn't suck
We match 100% up to 3% of your salary and 50% up to another 2%. Future you will appreciate present you.
Parental leave that’s realistic
Up to 16 weeks if you give birth, up to 8 weeks for new parents—birth, adoption, fostering, however your family grows.
Company offsites
Twice a year we get the whole team together. It’s part strategy, part bonding, part excuse to hang out and trade Shrevecoins or 3D-printed Ramp cards for buying pizza. Only pizza.
Money to keep growing
We give you an annual budget for books, courses, conferences, or whatever helps you level up, plus a home office stipend to make your workspace not terrible.
Work from wherever
We cover a co-working space stipend if you want to get out of the house but aren’t near our SF office.
Lunch on us
If you’re in our San Francisco office, we cover lunch 2x+ per week. Free food tastes better.
Built by developers, for developers.
Alan Shreve founded ngrok after years building distributed systems at scale. What started as an open source, community-funded service grew into a platform beloved by developers.
We raised a $50m Series A from Lightspeed and Coatue to build our ingress platform for APIs, device fleets, and connecting to customer networks. Millions of developers later, we were just getting started.
ngrok is now a universal gateway with the power to run production traffic at scale. There's plenty more to build, like connecting to AI inference and owning your compute—but that's where you come in.
ngrok runs on… just about anything.
From hobbyists hacking on side projects to engineers at Fortune 500 companies, across every internet-connected country in the world, and on devices you wouldn’t expect.
Read all that? Good. We sweat the small stuff, too.
We’re actively building a team that reflects the diversity of the developers who depend on us.
